Evol Narcissia

Evol Narcissia was born in the mortal world and was chosen by the Guardians of The Lost Soul Kingdom to serve as a messenger between realms. In the mortal world, she works as a psychologist and memorial artist at her clinic, Skeletal Academia, helping the living heal emotionally and guiding those who seek to communicate with the dead through her memorial art services.

Her birth name is Love, but she came to be known as "Evol" due to her unsettling ability to sense and interact with spirits from infancy. Though she was often treated as an outcast in many communities throughout her life, she embraced her abilities and confidently expressed what she loved.

As time passed, many began to recognize her gift. They sought her out for her services, growing to admire the very qualities they had once judged. Like her birth name, she is filled with love and compassion, despite being misunderstood for her abilities. This contrast creates a balance that The Lost Soul Kingdom values.

Evol & Kiv Bui

The story of Evol Narcissia, was inspired by one of Kiv Bui’s personas, which began to take form in her mid-20s, around early 2020. This period also marked the beginning of her pursuit of a degree in Psychology; the foundation of her journey toward healing from the childhood trauma and depression she had carried throughout her youth. While previous therapeutic approaches had not provided the support she needed, education offered her a sense of structure, trust, and discipline.

Through her studies, Kiv developed a deeper understanding of her own psychological development—from childhood into adulthood. This process of self-discovery became a primary source of inspiration for the creation of Evol. As she progressed in her healing journey, Kiv expressed her growing interest in psychology through the conceptualization and development of The Lost Soul Kingdom and its interconnected narratives.

Alongside her academic path, Kiv founded her small business, Skeletal Academia. Within this parallel framework, Evol embodies the role of a psychologist and memorial artist at her clinic, also named Skeletal Academia. In contrast, Kiv’s real-world work focuses on illustration and product design, creating a duality between creator and creation. Similarly, Evol’s work in memorial painting reflects Kiv’s own creative practice, particularly her work in producing psychologically driven memorial artwork for clients honoring their loved ones.

Evol’s ability to see and communicate with spirits was inspired by Kiv’s childhood experiences of sensing spiritual presences. The isolation Evol experienced were also what Kiv's went through when she were younger but it doesn't hold both Evol and Kiv back.

Evol’s development unfolded in tandem with Kiv Bui’s healing process. By her 30s, The Lost Soul Kingdom had evolved into a fully realized universe, and Evol had fulfilled her role as one of Kiv Bui’s four personas.

Ultimately, Evol’s story serves as a symbolic parallel to Kiv Bui’s life. Through Evol, we witness a metaphorical reflection of how Kiv see her life. Through The Lost Soul Kingdom, we are offered a deeper glimpse into her inner world—one that extends an invitation to other “Lost Souls” to seek and discover their own answers from within.

Note: Evol as a character in The Lost Soul Kingdom series is slightly different from Evol as a persona in The Personas series, as they belong to separate bodies of work, but they connect to each other.
